  1. Newly installed video card nVidia GeForce FX 5600 with 256 mb. CPU is a AMD Athlon (tm) XP 1700+, on board ram is 756 MB. Ran 3Dmark and got a score of 368, firefly forest FPS of 1.2, canyon flight FPS of 2.1 firefly forest FPS of 1.2. CPU score of 1321. I have tried drivers including 44.03, 45.23, 53.03,56.72, 66.93 and the lastest driver 77.72. The results are pretty much the same. My normal office programs such as word, excel and power point work fine. I cannot play any games, mostly they start ok, after a while the resolution goes completely. Games such as, Half Life2, doom3, Cammand & conquer Generals, and similar. Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thxs.

that isn't exactly the kind of board/grpahics card combo that would run doom3 and hl2 satisfactorily...

Thxs for your feedback, appreciate it. Do you have any suggestions for a new motherboard that would upgrade my system, I would like to keep my components, such as the sound card, graphics card, drives etc.
    Thxs again
