I have a geforce4 mx440 at the moment and i am going to upgrade, i was wondering if anybody can help, at present i can only get 1024x768 resolution on my monitor, anything lower looks blocky. i think my monitor has a max res of 1024x768, my driver is 4.0.7.2 dated 27/9/2002, is this the best driver for this card? its going to be a couple of months till i get the new card, so could anybody give any tips? also is the asrock k7s8x motherboard compatible with an ati radeon 9800xt, if not, whats the best card for the board? thanks.
My step brother recently brought a GeForce MX 4000 AGP 8X 128meg, he say it run great and it is bang for the buck at around 69.00 in Tigerdirect.ca NVIDIA For the budget card, buy GF MX4000 Mid end VC = GFX 5200 or GFX 5700 HIGH END VC GFX 5950 Ultra or GeForce 6800 or later. ATI For the Budget VC buy ATI RADEON 9200 or 9500 For Mid End VC buy ATI Radeon 9600 series For High ENd VC buy ATI Radeon 9800 series, X series When you buy one of this VC, they should support your motherboard. My guess is your monitor is quite old. Try buy a used Dell monitor (max 1280*1024 @16bit colour and 32) Dell EN771p Monitor is good. Look at www.newegg.com
