Get 'Reboot & select proper boot device' error message when booting from win 7 DVD

I have recently built a gaming computer, I downloaded windows 7 and burnt JUST the ISO file onto a dvd-rw disc using windows explorer. Although when I boot PC I get the error message 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert media into the selected boot device' I have checked and the dvd drive is the boot device in the BIOS. Any idea what could be causing this issue? I think I remember something on the BIOS about windows 8, which I found strange..

Any ideas?

Advise you should read the motherboard manual. If your motherboard is virtually new, you might have to surmount problems like secure boot, EUFI bios, and you may, for instance have to jump through hoops like 'go to Boot in BIOS and enable the option Launch CSM and sub option Launch PXE OpROM.' just to get the DVD drive bootable.

Are you making sure you definitely boot from the DVD Drive?
Because if you don't tick that, it'll go straight to booting from Hard Drive.
