Getting the most out of a new router

I recently bought a new Asus RT-N56U dual band router to replace my old Linksys and am not very familiar with networking devices. My current network runs my PC and Xbox 360 wired and currently only uses one laptop and smartphone for wireless. I was wondering if anybody has tips/tricks they can share to get the most out of my new router such as QoS settings and assigning the 2.4ghz and 5ghz band to different clients. Any information is appreciated.

Found a nice walkthrough video of the GUI for this specific router but still no help with settings.

I dont really recommend using the 5GHz band. It is kind of useless for everyday tasks given the short range.
