Hi all

Does any one know how I can get explorer in XP to show the file, jpeg, bitmap, wav,mp3 etc on the right side of the explorer window.?

I use 2K mainly and I can play an MP3 within explorer, but not on my laptop running XP, this means I can open several explorer windows and let music play one after the other by cueing up the next file in a different explorer window, but again I can't do this in XP.

I have been through all the different options listed in "View" but dont see anything to change it.

Its only 1 more annoyance of XP, and I would ditch XP if i had the chance but my laptop doesn't like 2K much.

Regards and thanks for any help.

click empty area of screen go to properties
appearance classic theme
right click on the file (mp3) and you will get prompt go to properties and re-associate
opens with
in any drive above bar , tools, options
you can set behaviors up and file associations

good luck

Cheers for the reply samstoned, however I already use classic view and none of your other ideas will change how XP displays the folder view,

Heres a pic of what I have under XP, as you can see it doesnt have the side bar allowing the file to be previewed,

Heres a Pic of 2K explorer showing the side bar.

Cheers
