GFX Power Issues

I have an Asus EN9600GT card installed in my system, works fine. What i'm wondering is should this card also have additional power supplied to it via the 6pin port on its side? My PSU does have the additioal power connector and my old card an ATI 1950pro required this additional power. The system seems to work fine the way it is, however once in a bluemoon Nvidia Sentinal reports the card is not receving enough power. Can anyone help? I have included a pic with the connector i mean circled in red. My specs E8500 3.16Ghz, Asus P5N32-E SLI, 2Gb DDR2 667Mhz, Asus EN9600GT

Yes, it should always be connected.

Thanx peterdiva for clearing that up for me. Coz the install instructions that came with the card were in every other lanuage except english. No Nvidia Sentinal warnings anymore. I might even be able to upgrade to the latest driver now with out experiencing 5-10fps when i run most games.

with the power connected u should definitely be able to upgrade the drivers.

Problem sorted, drivers completely uptadate now, no more powers or performance issues. Thanx
