Google accidentally blocks mobile porn searches

Users recently noticed that Google's mobile search stopped serving up unfiltered search results, and a flood of complaints to the company's support forums followed. Earlier this week, many mobile users found that they could no longer turn off SafeSearch, which blocks web pages containing explicit sexual content, when searching with Google, according to BNET.

After two days of complaints, a Google employee stated that the company is aware of the issue. Then users began to complain about the delays in support. The next day, engineers found the problem and started rolling out a fix that could "take a few hours to complete."

The problem was widespread and extended not only to Google's own Android phones, but also to Apple's iPhone and Research in Motion's BlackBerry. Of course, some users speculated that the action was intentional and Google wanted to censor search results. Most realized that this argument was invalid, given that if you switched to the normal version of the search engine everything worked just fine; the issue only affected the mobile version.

It's good news that Google fixed the problem in just a few days. Nevertheless, users need to remember that relying solely on the search giant for all our Internet needs is not a good idea.

Try this instead; Get 2 desktops with your porn collection mirrored, place one monitor in the horizontal, (landscape) orientation, the other monitor, (2nd desktop) in the vertical, (portrait) orientation, then run the same slide show on both. This insures each picture will be viewed full frame, regardless if it's portrait or landscape positioned. This may not be for the married, or for that matter, feint of heart.

Oh, and be sure to grab IPS panels, to ensure maximum viewing enjoyment.

This sentence is leading me to believe you have a 500GB SSD....... That notwithstanding, this is why God invented mechanical HDDS, big ones. I think it was perhaps on the 9th or 10th day. Right after Adam and Eve, "got their first room", so to speak.

No, my Hitachi disk (500GB) was full to the brim, but with all the games I've been installing (and purhasing) lately, I only had 20 something GB left in my W7 parition (around 110GB). So I've moved my Linux over to the Hitachi disk now, and given my W7 install the whole SSD back. I've now got 158GB free, which is much better! :haha:

I fancy a 2TB or 3TB disk anyway, and I might even purchase a BarracudaXT or whatever it is for Linux yet.

I thought we knew what was in the rain water... trace amounts of Chernobyl's nuclear fallout, and plenty of pollution and acid, more fallout from industries present and goneby.

May be he was thinking about porn using 3D capabilities of modern GPUs, I wonder which rendering engine developers would want to use for that though; it may deliver all the porn he needs and more, and from all the different angles; I wonder why game industry haven't thought of that lol

Indeed, in fact if you're a "loose constructionist" of the US constitution, then porn is one of those, "certain inalienable rights endower upon us by our creator"!

The logic is inescapable! God invented sex, and therefore "endowed" us with the ability to, in turn, to create pornography...!

However, in the "endowment" portion of the equation, it becomes painfully obvious that, "some men are more equal than others"....

OK Arch...I'm painfully aware of what he was thinking. Hopefully, everybody will expect, "devolpers" to provide a comprehensive electronic sex substitute for everybody on the planet. Then, in a generation or two, we'll have mercifully "non-bred" ourselves out of existence...!
