Google Hijack Virus Keeps Coming Back

I have had the nasty Google hijack virus for about a week. I have followed the steps found on the forum but the virus just comes back. I have a hijack this log would someone please take a look and let me know if I can get rid of this thing. The log has been shortened to fit the 10000 character limit. I would really appreciate any help.

Doing this only adds to your troubles. Delete all but one antivirus and anti malware program. Try to follow the 8-Step Virus & Malware Instructions

Your logs look pretty good. You take good care of your computer. If your subscription is still good for Norton Internet Security keep it... If it is not running, or is close to expiration, remove it. Your computer will thank you for doing this. Run the ESET ON-Line Scanner:

I ran the scanner and there are no infections showing. Comodo found two backdoor threats which I have quarantined and the redirects have stopped. I hope they do not come back

Okay, I see both Norton Internet Security and Avast running. Have you decided which one to keep.? It is best to only run one antivirus program for these reasons:

• Multiple antivirus programs can leave the system more vulnerable.
• Multiple AVs can affect scans.
• Multiple AVs can slow a system.

Norton Security is a paid program. But if you are using a Trial version or the subscription has or is close to expiring, you need to decide which to keep. Here are some tools to help with the removal of one of the,m : Download the tool for the program you will remove and save it to your desktop:

Security programs are best handled in Safe Mode:

Boot into Safe Mode

• Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard.
• Select the Safe Mode option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.

Double click on the removal tool on the desktop for the AV you are NOT going to keep
Follow the onscreen prompts.

And you have a process loading that I would like you to stop while we are cleaning. It is a legitimate program, but could interfere with the scans we run:

Please handle the above first. Since there are no entries visible in the current logs, I would like you to run another program which will dig deeper:
Please download ComboFix HERE:

• With ComboFix, at the download window, please rename it to Combo-Fix(.exe) before downloading it.
  
• Please disable all security programs, such as antiviruses, antispywares, and firewalls. Also disable your internet connection.
  
• Run Combo-Fix.exe and follow the prompts.
  (Understand that things like your system clock changing and your desktop disappearing might happen. Do not worry, because all will be restored later.)
• Wait for the scan to be completed.
• If it requires a reboot, please do it.

• After the scan has completed entirely, please post the log here. The log will be located at C:\ComboFix(.txt)

Notes:

• 
  1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
  3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.
  4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

When you have finished running Combofix, please follow with this: (You can delete the previous scan first)
Run Eset NOD32 Online AntiVirus Scanner HERE

Note: You will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.

• Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
• Click Start
• When asked, allow the Active X control to install
• Disable your current Antivirus software. You can usually do this with its Notification Tray icon near the clock.
• Click Start
• Make sure that the option "Remove found threats" is Unchecked, and the option "Scan unwanted applications" is checked
• Click Scan
• Wait for the scan to finish
• Re-enable your Antivirus software.
• A logfile is created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt. Please include this on your post.

It appears the Tmagic is not aware that I have requested the HijackThis logs to be pasted into the post- this facilitates the searching needed for any entries.

So please attach the Combofix report and the Eset log.
Rescan with HJT and paste that log on in as you did originally.
