GPU sales up 14% in 2009, 27.9% expected for 2010

  1. Worldwide shipments of computer graphics chips climbed to unexpected levels in 2009, with annual growth projected to continue through 2011, according to Jon Peddie Research. Shipments increased 14% year-over-year during 2009, reaching 425.4 million units in "an amazing comeback, in this year of retrenching and recession."

    That's going to depend largely on Core i3 take-up and how well ARM does. I wouldn't start writing Chipzilla's obituary just yet.

    I was only referring to Graphics side of their business i.e. Larrabee's delays and thankyou for your informative reply as i3 take up is an important aspect in this regard for them. :)

    This means that PC gaming isn't dead as many experts say.

    I don't think it will every, for example I never thought of buying a gaming console :)

    I am pretty much happy playing few games i like to play on my PC.
