  1. Still in possession of my first desktop an HP purchased 7yrs ago. Finally in a position to upgrade it. Don't want to buy new; would like to turn the clock back in current model I'm "driving".

    If you are thinking of upgrading a 7 yrs old pc to any modern spec, well you should probably get a new one or you just clone things up,- Your cd/dvd reader, harddisk, etc may still be useful though

    Yeah, I was hoping to use the old as the experimental work in progress model before I went out and purchased new!!!

    I hope u r going to have good observations, and i really hope u dont make erroneous inferences.
    Take your time. But take precautions, and at least have an idea of what you are doing or experimenting with.
