Im having a problem with vice city, and am hoping someone can
help me out with this.
Everytime I play VC, after approx. 20 minutes of playtime, or sometimes sooner if it starts to rain in the game, the game slows down to a crawl, stuttering along for a bit till I can hardly even get out of the game anymore, and when i get out i have to reboot
my pc to get it back to its normal functioning state.
The rain seems to be related since it seems everytime it starts to rain the slowdown begins.
I'm starting to think its a Virtual memory fillup, but as far as I can tell online , nobody seems to have the same problem, and Ive only experienced it with low end doslike programs that didnt know how to handle virtual memory.
I've tried to tone down the graphics, to 640 by 480, without any noticable difference from when i play in 1024 by 768.
anybody have a clue?
system: AMD Athlon XP 2100+ , 512 meg ddr ram, nvidea geforce 4 mx 440 w/128ddr ,win ME
