Hackers stuff up $800 million bank heist over spelling error

Reminds me of the guy that robbed a convenience store at gunpoint for the lottery tickets and sat outside scratching them to take the winners back in to cash them in. He was still sitting there scratching when the police arrived and took him to jail.

I swear it did not pass thru any of my two bank accounts. ;)

the Philippine senate had made an inquiry regarding the heist and how the money in $ were transferred electronically from two or three u.s. banks to Philippine banks used by four fictitious account holders, a portion of which was converted into pesos, transferred/converted into casino chips, and then gone 'missing'.

one bank branch manager is under senate investigation, another bank manager is under his own bank's internal investigation, many personalities are under investigation by the anti-money laundering council (AMLC). since the Philippines had no decent/competent national cybercrime division, authorities may ask the FBI.
