Half-Life 2 Lag

  1. My friend has an eMachines T3256, and he just put in a GeForce 6200. He used to use his GeForce 4 Mx4000 onboard graphics before. Now, the game will be running fine for a minute and all of a sudden lag like crazy, and take a minute to recover. He did not have this problem with his old vid card. He meets the power supply requirements with a 300watt max output, and it seems to run fine on other games that do not require steam. Can anyone explain this, please?

What about the amps the PSU delivers on the 12V rail?

I'm not exactly sure what that means....would it be printed on the psu label in the computer?

Yes, it should be found on the psu label. Look at the +12V figure.
