    Hi
You dont say which OS you have but it sounds like Win98

Slave drive's dont have Himem.sys or win.sys, these are system files found usually on the boot drive of the PC, are you actually able to boot into the OS?

Is it that when you open explorer you cant access the disk or does this error occur at boot up,

If it occurs at bootup then you need to boot with a floppy disk and if it is win98 then you can download a boot disk from www.bootdisk.com

    Let us know

    Regards

Like he said. More then likely you are running 98 or ME.

What drive is your root directory on?
