Ok i look at the system logs the other day and noticed a error well i looked at them again today and it looks like i get about 5-10 a day. Here is what they say: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation. Any clue of what this means?? I leave my computer on 24/7 and don't really have any problems.

You might need to upgrade your memory; so your hard drive doesn't overload.
how much memory do you have and what kind of applications you run?

Regardless of whether or not the HDD is okay, it's best to make backups in case it does fail.
As for your problem, try updating the firmware and all your drivers.

I did not mean the HDD's drivers, as there are none. HDDs have firmware updates, available on the HDD manufacturer's website. By drivers, I meant your other drivers, such as the chipset drivers. Also, a BIOS update wouldn't hurt either.

Well i looked on the seagate website and i couldn't find any. My HDD is about 3 years old so i guess they don't have any for it. any the latest bios update for my computer was 2005. which i have. got it from hp. thanks for your help!
