Hard drive hosed

  1. I'm fairly sure I downloaded a virus/trojan. I got a free game from, clicked the icon to play and my system went to the blue screen of death.

I would just repair/reinstall windows from the "boot from CD" screen but my system tells me I have no harddrive.

How do I convince my system I have a hard drive so I can reinstall/repair windows?

    Any help is appreciated!

If you have a newer system, then you may have to provide Windows with SATA drivers. Press F6 when prompted and pop in the floppy disk (that hopefully came with your motherboard/computer).

No matter what, the hard drive should be identified and shown during the POST sequence. (If all you see at startup is some pretty logo, press ESC to get rid of that or disable the logo thing in BIOS setup.)
