Hard Drive IDE port color on motherboard

Hey everybody,

I have a question regarding the color for the IDE port that the hard drive goes on, I'm not sure what kind of motherboard it is it says intel on it and its a Gateway 300se. Would it be white or black?

It's probably the white one!!! Try it and check the bios to see if the hdd appears on the primary or secondary bus!!! If it appears on primary, then all is well!!!!

Hi Nick !
Yes probably the color of IDE port is of white port. After connecting ur hard drive please go to bios and clear the NVRAM and check if Hdd is detected. If yes u are ready to go. Hope this might be helpful for u.

Thank you everyone, I went into the BIOs and the Hard Drive is set on primary I dont remember what port I put it in thats why I wanted to be sure, Thank You everyone
