Hard Drive not working

Hi you all
i made a mistake and am unable to solve it so i need you guys to help me out.
actually my operating system was not working properly so i tried to install a new copy of windows XP pack 2. but, by mistake i installed on the existing copy and my computer stopped working. then i took out the hard drive from my laptop and attached on my second laptop and formatted it externally. after doing so i put it back on my 1st laptop and now when i reboot my computer it gives me an error and does nothing
the error is " remove disk or other media "
tell me what i should do. my newly formatted drive have two partition in FAT 32.
after further solving my hard disk now showing the error as" Invalid partition table"

please guys help

Reformat the C drive and reload XP

i reformatted the c drive again and after that when i put it back in my laptop and starts it shows a error message "ntlds file missing".
what should i do now.
