Hard Drive Startup

I can't get my hard drive to start. I did a complete format and now it will not boot up when I put my Windows 8 cd in.. I'm sure it was a bad move on my part. I just wanted to clean it out and start over. Do I need to find drivers for my hard drive? Any help please , thank you

Hey kesler7.
Did this pc in question come with Win8 and with this disk ?
If you are familiar with accessing the BIOS, does it show that the drive is present ?
If it does show and the drive is working properly, if the drive is set as the first boot device in the Boot section of the BIOS, or maybe be set as the first boot device using an F key sequence on startup, it should recognize the drive at power up where you can start the reinstall of Win8.
