Hard Drive Wont Work.

Ok here goes. I have just installed another Hard Drive in my computer. It is a Seagate ST310014ACE. And for some reason it wont go. When i turn on the computer all i get from the drive is a loud ticking noise, about one tick every second. After a while the ticking will stop and the computer will say that their is no drive installed. I have tried changing the jumper around to see if i could get the computer to recognise it but it wont.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with the drive.

Any suggestions would be awsome.

Its broke, take it back. If you want proof its broke take that cd that came with it and boot up, try to have it pass the diagnostics tests. If it even finds the disk. Hard drives should never click/tick/squeek.

Ive tried running seatools on the drive and it wouldnt work because it needs the system to detect it first. I have since spoken to the guy that sold it to me and he is going to send me a replacement drive. I realy hope this new drive works.
