Harddisk showing as CD-Rom in XP

I have here a Dell Laptop with a Seagate ST94811A Harddrive. Since the last Windows update, this drive shows also as CD-Rom Drive in Windows Explorer (associated letter D), but not in the Disk Management Utility.
A reset to an older Restoration Point did not solve the problem.
The data on the drive partitions can be accessed without problems.
Already tried to google it up, at no avail.
Any hints?

Dont know whats up never heard that before. Windows Explorer does some weird stuf sometimes for everyone. As long as you can access your DATA. Maybe back-up? Just incase it turns into a perminant optical drive - lol

i wouldnt worry to much - its just windows doing its usual tricks
