Hardrive errors

Hi i have a problem with my harddrive it keeps getting errors all the time and as i ran disk check it deleted loads of index entry files here is a list of some it deleted

deleting index entry top header support(1) jpg in $130 of file 18354
deleting index entry sata 2 (1).gif in index $130 of file 18364

there is loads more that it deleted is this a normal thing or is it serious ?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

It`s possible you have a failing hard drive.

Backup your important data ASAP.

Download and run the hard drive diagnostic utility from your hard drive manufacturers website.

If you can`t find it, take a look at this thread HERE.

I already have MS DOS and SeaTools for Windows. My harddrive has just gone loopy again just there it would not load the operating system and a beeping kind of noise was coming from the harddrive so i powered it down and messed with the harddrive leads etc and rebooted and it worked perfectly then the chkdsk deleted more files on start up and now it seems to be fine. I have also replaced the SATA lead since thinking that could be the problem of the error

That`s potentially good news then.

I still recommend you backup your important data though, just in case.

Keep an eye on things and see how it goes.
