Have uninstalled Norton 2005 but Symantec still trying to update?

I have read the post on removing Norton for good but I was able to uninstall my Norton Internet Security 2005 no probs (using the add/uninstall programs).

I now use AVG antivirus & zone alarm firewall but I have noticed that Symantec is still attempting to access the internet for updates - any ideas on how I can rid of this?

Symantec still has a directory in my program files C:\Program files\common files\Symantec Shared. Zone Alarm identifies the product name as 'Client & Host Security Platform. Should I just delete this??

Have you uninstalled everything in Add/Remove Programs relating to Norton, including LiveUpdate?

Yes, I have uninstalled Live Update.

Post a HJT log as per these instructions HERE. I`ll take a look and see where Norton is still running from and stop it.

Here's my HJT log. I've not had any instances of Symantec trying to update since my last post so maybe its sorted itself somehow??

Should I delete C:\Program files\common files\Symantec Shared, where files still exist??

Your HJT log is clean and shows no signs of any Symantec/Norton files running on your system.

Yes, you can delete the C:\Program files\common files\Symantec Shared folder.
