Having 12 svchost.exe

  1. Heya,

    I just notice my window vista has 12 svchost.exe runinng at the same time, pls refer to the attached image,

    and in combofix log, showing:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\svchost]
    LocalSystemNetworkRestricted hidserv UxSms WdiSystemHost Netman trkwks AudioEndpointBuilder WUDFSvc irmon sysmain IPBusEnum dot3svc PcaSvc EMDMgmt TabletInputService wlansvc WPDBusEnum
    bthsvcs BthServ

    Would it pose a threat of virus or it is a nature for window vista?
    I would be very appreciated if someone could help me out with this matter...

    Unless, svchost.exe is running from anywhere else other than the system32 folder, there isn`t a problem.

    Ok but how to indentify the svchost.exe soucre is running from?

    Just do a search of you system for svchost.exe and see where it`s found. Like I said, if it`s running from the windows/system32 directory, then it`s perfectly legit.
