HD reformatting queston

if i install a slave hd to my current computer that needs to be reformatted what program should i use to do so. how can i format it/ partition it and what not. and if there was data on it how would i delete it. would the reformatting do that for me

You can format it inside of the OS. If the OS recognizes the drive and assigns a drive letter, all you have to do is format it in Explorer. If it doesn't recognize the drive or it's a brand new drive. Go into My Computer > Manage> Disk Management.
