HDD keeps having to be manually found in bios... auto detect = on

my hard disk keeps having to be re-found by me in the bios every time i start up, despite the fact that it is set to auto-detect....
why is it doing this?

the computer is a packard bell... lol

Sometimes you can fix this by either
-manually entering the Correct details for the drive in Bios (Must be Correct)
- or, Clear the Cmos and see if Bios recognizes
Sometimes bios update covers the Drive you have , you can confirm at web site of your Mb.
