I have an ASUS Q500A laptop, and when I connect it to either one of my TV's two HDMI ports, no display is detected. I successfully connected the two before, but it just seems impossible to connect them again. Both the HDMI cables work, I use them for video game consoles. I've tried looking for solutions online, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Power off the laptop and THEN cable to the TV. Make sure the TV input selection is to the correct HDMI port.
Now power on the Laptop and you should see it load the driver for HDMI.

Windows? Upgraded or changed recently? Tried restoring the Windows to a previous setting that worked?
Alternatively, boot from a Linux-USB-FLASH-STICK. It will auto-detect the monitors, both. If it works, then the problem is the operating system on the laptop. Suggest Linux Mint, https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
