help!? cannot access windows internet explorer!

I downloaded something recently that messed up my laptop. as a result, I cannot access ms ie and windows media player won't work either. fortunately I still have firefox. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

What Operating System are you using?

If you are using Win XP, go to your all programs menu and find Set Program Access and Defaults. Go through the custom settings and check the apropriate boxes that are marked "Enable Access to this Program". You can also set them as the default programs, this won't deny you access to Firefox or any other media player.
