I've brought a new external 120 GB hard drive, and connected it to my 4-pin firewire port on my laptop.

The OS sees the drive and does not give any problems.
But how in the world do I see the drive myself. I've checked in "mycomputer" but i do not visually see the drive.

It it located on: LUN 0 (No idea what that means)
But the drive is installed and working properly. I just have no idea how to access it.

Any suggestions??? Please let me know.

Disk is useless

The disk is useless. With firewire, there should be no driver installation, unlike USB. The disk only contains a backup software that came with the hard drive. No driver information or executable is included.

But I have just figured it out after some research.
Whenever you install a new external hard drive and you come across this situation, you need to assign a drive letter to it by formating it through "computer management" in your control panel / Administrative tools

Thanks for the response though.
But my new 120 GB drive is up and running.
