I run a Gefore FX5200 on my other box with "NVIDIA Forceware (2K-XP) 66.93" drivers and DirectX 9.0c without any problems.
Which driver version are you installing?

    GeForce 5200

I have the same card. I needed to download 3 driver versions before I got it to work properly. nVidia has many dirver versions for this card, best place to get them. Second make sure your DirectX is up to date DX9.0, this is microsoft video interface stuff.

Make sure your power suply can handle it, prob need at least 300W PS, bigger the better.

300w for a 5200?? I have an old Dell that uses a 225 and runs it fine along with 2.6p4 and a gig of ram.
