Hello, just wondering how i would log onto this iMac, since this computer needs the network to work. I got it for free from my high school so just wondering how i would set it up to be able to work in my own home. Since all it does now is search for the network... iuno what to do :dead:

Does that thing have a working hard drive? Maybe you got it without an OS and you should install one?

Yea its gota working hard drive, so it could be needing new software? like they erased everything maybe?

if you have the CD for it, insert and at boot you hold the letter C.
now you can reinstall if necessary.

another choice is the <cmd><option> while booting which will avoid loading
all the extensions and just bring up the base OS.

since this computer needs the network to work
do you mean it will not BOOT or there's an issue with loggin on?

Well, it turns on and then there is a folder icon with a question mark and just keeps blinking

The system needs major repair or reinstall, the flashing says 'I cant find the kernel to boot'
How old is the system, or can you get some info off the back/bottom of the box?
You're going to need to order OS X Site for newer systems, or go to some OEM sites to get OS 9.*

Or get a free operating system like BSD/Linux..
