Help hooking up a Wireless Router!

Hello, i have a HP pavilion dv6000 and a netgear wireless router, but for some reason, for the life of me can't seem to get the damn thing to work. When i plug my router into my cable box, it's like the router doesnt recognize it's plugged into the cable, and vice versa, could someone please help me!!?

You have to install it using the install disc or the install download. Read the manual on the install disc, or via the Netgear site. You may be having trouble installing the Netgear while it is connected to the cable source... in which case get instructions from your cable company.

One thing to consider... many cable modems have trouble when they are removed from your computer and plugged in to a router. Some modems need to be powered off (best to just unplug) for 30-60 seconds, and then attached to the router. This will allow the modem to re-initialize or do what it need in order to allow the router to see it.
