Help installing Win98 after fdisk/format

  1. Hello there! I am a computer newbie and have just done fdisk/format on my
hard drive and now need to install operating system. I have never done this before and would like some guidance in the project. My last step in the format has lead me to 'Volume Serial Number xxxx-xxxx' and I am left with the A:/> prompt and a little hesitant about what comes next? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

    Welcome to TechSpot

If yours is a W98 boot-floppy (where you formatted from), make sure you start it with the 'Support for CD-ROM' option.
Then just insert the W98-CD and type in the following:
d: and press Enter <<== if d: does not work, try e:
    setup and press enter
    Install should start.

Have a look first at , scroll down and look for the 'HOW TO..' guide for W95 and W98.
