I have a Toshiba Satellite a210-12u which has been quite a good laptop for me. However for qutie a while now it has been going dim after about a minute of loading up. The screen starts as it should do, but then goes dim, like if I had taken the plug out and it was working on the battery. I have however checked the power options and have it at high performance, and also have the display brightness at 100%. Whilst this is not an issue which inhibits my use of the laptop, it is a bit annoying.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Danny

not sure if I can help you with that but did you try without battery / power supply only?

I've found that my Toshiba seems to 'loose hardware settings' from time to time --
for me, specifically the hibernation setting flips to standby.

Using the Toshiba Console, I flip from hibernate to standby, return it to hibernate and
then close the console -- thus re-writing my choice.
