Help needed -- virus/trojans will not go away!

Please help -- I'm really desperate! I've tried eveything to try to remove whatever is causing new browser windows to pop up with ads every minute or two when I'm connected to the net. Even when Adaware, Spybot, etc. detects things (CoolWebsearch, Maxsearch), they can't remove them. I've tried running Windows 2000 in safe mode (still can't remove them). I've tried stand-alone repair programs for CWS, Look2Me, etc. -- nothing works! I've attached a log from HijackThis, but, as an amateur, can't figure out what to do!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You are using an old version of HJT.

Go and read both these threads by RBS. Follow all the instructions exactly.

How to remove Trojans and its ilk! and How to remove Begin2search / coolwebsearch and other nasties.

Only after doing the above, post a fresh HJT log.

boot in safe mode when removing nasties. Also turn off system restore. Most new nasties will self-regenerate from system restore files. When eradicated, then turn it back on.
