Help needed with HJT Log

Have been trying to help my friend sort his pc out - it has been running slow for months and lately refuses to launch applications constantly stating virtual memory is low. Having looked at it it appears that something is caning the processor but task manager won't open.
His anti-virus was woefully out of date so I managed to install and run Avast, ASquare, Adware, Spybot and a few others which cleared a ton of trojans/viruses and assorted rubbish!
Things still running slow though and task manager will not open still.
Here is the HijackThis Log - hopefully one of you kind and much cleverer people can help!!!!

Hello and welcome to TechSpot.

It appears that Norton AntiVirus is still trying to run. Your version of HJT is also out of date.

Please download and run this tool HERE to remove any remnants of Norton from your system.

Then go and read the Viruses/spyware/malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, ComboFix, and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above. Also post here the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.
