help please im going threw withdrawl!!!

hey im new here but anyway... my friend tried reformating my computer but after its whiped when you reboot it with the windows xp disk in it it says "error cand read cd" or something like that. how do i fix this???

If there's a problem with reading the CD it's either your CD reader or the CD. You can always replace the the reader or the disc.

i have tried 3 different windows xp cd's....oh and it had windows xp befor so its is the same addition as it origionally had.

As JMMD pointed out it is either a problem with the disk ( look for smudges or scratches ont he disk) or a problem with the reader. ( try another cd or DVD rom)
