    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Boot into safe mode. See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Click start/run and type regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbsys2.dll into the run box and press the enter key. Note the spaces between the 2 and the forward slash and again between the u and the c.

Run HJT with no other programmes open. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to( if there).

    Fix all 016-DPF entries.

    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{004C4D04-42F2-490D-AE25-38D72C216EC4}: NameServer = 194.72.0.98 194.74.65.68

    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{004C4D04-42F2-490D-AE25-38D72C216EC4}: NameServer = 194.72.0.98 194.74.65.68

Only fix the above 017 entries, if they don`t belong to your iSP.

    O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34546} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbsys2.dll

Click on the fix checked button.

    Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold file(if there).

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbsys2.dll

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Thanks for the info - I'll read thru carefully and set to getting rid of the

Are there any places in the internet to avoid picking these up ?

    Thanks again.
