    System before problem :
    P4 3.2ghz socket 478
    PCChips T-12 Tidalwave motherboard
    512mb ddr ram
    Geforce FX 5700 video card

then I added another 512 stick of ram and a DVD-RW drive to my system

now whenever i try to play a game i can play for 10-15 minutes then, a blue screen appears stating some sort of error which i don't have time to read. then it just shuts off and restarts itself.

    any ideas?

My guess is the new stick of mem is bad? Whenever I've had intermittent shutdown problems like that, that's what it is. Try taking out the new stick and see if it still does it.

You should also be able to go into the system and turn off the automatic reboot so you have time to read the error.

Go into "system" from your control panel. Go to the "advanced" tab and at the bottom is "startup and recovery" with a "settings" button. Go into settings and uncheck the box for "automatic restart" under "system failure."
