Hey! I just bought a new Asus A8N-SLI PREMIUM motherboard (socket 939) and put a Athlon 64 FX-60 micro processor on it. The computer boots up and windows works fine (Windows XP was a fresh image), but the bios won't recognize the microprocessor....instead it gives 'AMD Processor UNKNOWN'. When I right click on My Computer and go into properties, it also says AMD Processor UNKNOWN......Please help!!!!!

    Thanks you!

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You probably need to update your bios to the latest version, in order for your mobo to recognise your cpu.

    Check on the Asus website.

I agree with Howard, it is a bios issue.

    Poor rage :(

Anyway, yeah, it is either your BIOS or Motherboard itself, but as both howard and iss commented, it is more than likely your BIOS.
