Help w/ Volume Display

Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP.
I have the volume controls on the front of the unit, and when i hit the buttons (volume up, volume down, or mute), it used to display on the screen. I installed a fresh version of windows XP after some problems and now the display doesnt come up. It is the display that shows the volume bar and as I hit up and down, it should be displaying on the screen but it isnt.

You need to install a Dell program to get the volume OSD back. You may want to go through the download page of your laptop model at the Dell website and install all sorts of other things too. (Not everything of course).
