Help with CPU speed.

ok my CPU is amd 1.8ghz it was working fine, then i reset and the wouldnt even load up the white writing ( not sure wot it called) so i changed it with my sisters motherboard the CPU and everything, its working fine but the speed of the CPU has gone down to 1.36 ghz is there any way to clock my cpu or sumthing.

- Stats -
AMD Athlon XP 1500+ ( Was 2100+ before )
1.36 ghz ( was 1.8ghz)
768 of ram
 
Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You need to change the fsb(front side bus) speed to 133mhz. It`s probably set at the default of 100mhz.

You can do this from bios.

theres a little problem there its not got a admin pass on my bios only user is there any programs to do it? or ne thing?

I`m not sure I understand you correctly.

What do you mean by "it`s not got an admin pass on my bios"?

Ah I see now. Take the cmos battery out for a few minutes, being careful to hold it only by the edges. Not top and bottom, as this can discharge the battery. Then reinsert the battery.

Make sure you unplug the system from the mains before you do this.

That should reset the bios passwords to none.

the battery thing worked but setting it to 133mhz didnt unless i did it wrong 0.o

edit: i was changing the wrong thing XD works now thx :D
