Hi everyone,

Can anyone take a look at my DDS log that i posted a few weeks ago? It would be a big help.

Also, i still have things like combofix installed on my comp. Should I get rid of it?

Thank you

JHibb, I sent kritius a PM that you log is ready. He is very good about following up and may not gotten notice that you had replied- this happens sometimes.

Please don't do anything with Combofix yet. When the system is clean, he will have you remove all the cleaning tools and old restore points.

Thank you kritius.

JHibb, do any of these problem still exist?
1. My ethernet connection still does not show up in my system tray.
2. My Wireless conncetion does, however it still shows a "!" on it and when i mouse over it says there is "limited or no connectivity.
3.When i was running the commands, not sure which one it was, the "!" came off the wireless connection symbol.

Regarding #1: if you are using a laptop connecting wirelessly through a router that is hard- wired to another computer, you should only be seeing the Local Area Network icon with a red X over it. If you put the mouse over it, you should see "A network cable is unplugged." if there is no icon at all, do this:
Right click on the Taskbar> Properties> check 'hide inactive icons'> then click on Customize. You should see the LAN icon there with the red X. Set it to always show. But note: I have mine set to 'hide when inactive' but it always shows: then click on Apply> OK.

Regarding #2: Look in the Event Viewer as follows:

Start> Run> type in eventvwr

[1]. Click on System to open the log>
[2]. Look for the Error or Warning for DHCP, Server and/or DCOM
[3] .Double click on the Error to open it.
[4]. Click on Copy button, top right, below the down arrow >
[5]. Paste (Ctrl V) in Notepad or Wordpad.

Then do a search using the Error number and the Source: Example: the Error will open and show this:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DCOM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 10005
Date: 1/5/2010
Time: 9:55:55 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: LAPTOP2
Description:
DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to start the service wuauserv with arguments "" in order to run the server:, etc.

For the search: Error 10005 DCOM

You can troubleshoot any of the Errors or Warnings like this. You may see several Warnings and then an Error. I'm sorry I don't have time to do this, but have set you up. You can learn if a Service isn't running or whether there is a problem through the ISP.

I am getting the Warning low connectivity, like you, occasionally when coming out of Sleep or Standby. which then resolves into the connection. Your problem isn't malware. If it continues, contact your ISP first. Then look in the Device Manager for the same yellow triangle with ! showing error on one of the drivers> it may need updating. And consider the possibility that the router is going bad.
