Help with Sony Vegas Movie Studio

Hi - I'm new to this board and can use someone's help.

I'm working with Sony Vegas Movie Studio and about 350 scanned photos. Is there a way, once all of the photos are added to the Media Pool, to work them them in groups?

For example, can I add transitions to more than one photo at a time?

Can I set the timeline or length that a photo will be displayed for more than one pic? We want each pic displayed the same amount of time - or for the most part we do -
