Being nice to newcomers is a rare trait --- its like a 25th chromosome haha

Then maybe u can help me with my BSOD:::

    MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

usually does it when my comp gets to around 40C degrees... which shouldn't be any problem for it...

    Any ideas?

Oh no, not the dreaded 9C bugcheck.

This is caused by some kind of hardware failure.

    0x0000009C: MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

This is a hardware issue: an unrecoverable hardware error has occurred. The parameters have different meanings depending on what type of CPU you have but, while diagnostic, rarely lead to a clear solution. Most commonly it results from overheating, from failed hardware (RAM, CPU, hardware bus, power supply, etc.), or from pushing hardware beyond its capabilities (e.g., overclocking a CPU).

Go HERE and follow the instructions.

    Regards Howard :)

lol...... man... my computer's like 2 months old :(!!!!!!! 9C you say... :[ it only does it once in a while too... and always when it gets above 40 degrees celsius... (the cpu...) that shouldn't be the cause tho... CPU's should go up to 70-80 in my knowledge..

If after following the instructions in the link I gave you, it`s still a problem.

Open a new thread in the Windows OS forum and zip 5 or 6 of your latest minidumps together and attach them to your post.

    Regards Howard :)

Hey dude, I saw the sites you posted, did you design them yourself? Pretty snazy for a guy your age if so.

I'm a fellow piano player, but couldn't win a comp to save my life. Do you do any recording? Can you post some work?

I also program VB6, I'm a little rusty, haven't used it in a while, been switching to web languages, but I may be of a tiny help in VB6.

Welcome aboard, hope you like your stay, lots of nerds around here! :)

    BugCheck 1000007F, {8, 80042000, 0, 0}

Unable to load image nv4_mini.sys, Win32 error 2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nv4_mini.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nv4_mini.sys
    Probably caused by : nv4_mini.sys ( nv4_mini+3292b )
This is your video card driver.

    0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

One of three types of problems occurred in kernel-mode: (1) Hardware failures. (2) Software problems. (3) A bound trap (i.e., a condition that the kernel is not allowed to have or intercept). Hardware failures are the most common cause (many dozen KB articles exist for this error referencing specific hardware failures) and, of these, memory hardware failures are the most common.

Please be aware, that it`s difficult to be sure from just 1 minidump.

    BTW Vigilante.

    With only a few exceptions.

    Regards Howard :haha:
