Go HERE and have your computer scanned.

Then, go and read both these threads by RBS. Follow all the instructions exactly.

How to remove Trojans and its ilk! and How to remove Begin2search / coolwebsearch and other nasties.

Then see. How to post your Hijackthis log-file as an ATTACHMENT.

Post a fresh HJT log only after doing the above.

i cant get housecall to scan,it starts then says alert:slow connection found(im on 2MB broadband) then something called GetMac.exe comes up and all my IE pages shut down including the housecall!!also pc keeps whirring like its being scanned,c:drive keeps making a clunking sound and pc reboots itself on start up,do you think i should just save everything and do a system restore?

Just a few more steps, and you should be ok.

Boot into safe mode. See how HERE.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Click start/run, and type regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbsys2.dll into the runbox, and press the enter key. You can also copy, and paste this into the run box if you like.

Run HJT with no other programmes open, and have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

Fix all 016 DPF entries.

O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34546} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbsys2.dll

O23 - Service: BT Modem Lock - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\BT Yahoo! Internet\ModemLock.exe (file missing)

Now click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate, and delete the following bold files(if there).

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbsys2.dll

Click start/run, and type services.msc into the run box, and press the enter key.

When the window appears, maximise it.

Locate the above 023 service, and double click on it.

If it`s running, select stop, and set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok.

Reboot into normal mode, and turn system restore back on.
