  1. Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 that won't power down. The task manager also won't work using ctrl-alt-delete. They both work in safe mode. I have run Adaware, spybot, and AVG in safe mode and it has taken care of alot but not everything. I also have a couple of lingering pop ups that I just can't get rid of. I am attaching my HJT log file. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) The version (6.00.2800.1106) is out of date. Check Windowsupdate to update the Internet Explorer.
Possibly out of date Shows the version of your Internet Explorer. Newest Version is: 6.00.2900.2180!

    Update your Internet explorer.

Also, you can download a trial version of Ewido here: http://www.ewido.net/en/

Be sure you update it before using it, and when it finds a problem, be sure to select the check box to do the same action (clean) when it finds a problem, otherwise, you will have to click continue, to keep scanning with every problem it finds.

Use Ewido and scan your computer, it's a pretty good program.

Also, download spywareblaster to keep a lot of spyware off your computer: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
