I have had my browser (IE6) Hijacked. This Hijack was then sending me to a porn site (at YouTube). I get an official looking CRITICAL ERROR: stating that I have been infected with a Trojan Virus and I need to click OK to fix it. Then it sends me to a web site to purchase a Spyware/Malware program. I have run numerous Spyware/Malware/Adware programs with little success. I have reloaded my OS (Win XP SP2). I have gotton rid of the redirection to the porn site but I still have the Error Message.

The Techspot FAQ

If you could take a minute to fill in some of your profile information that would be helpful to all members of the forum :)
Knowing someone's location in the world can be extremely helpful, even if you just put a country.

Also remember to post any problems or questions that you have in the appropriate forums

With regards to your problem, please read this thread If your system is infected, read this before deciding whether to Clean or Format.

If you decide to clean your system, follow these instructions Virus/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions and post fresh HJT, Combofix, and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments to a new reply in this thread as well as the result of the Panda Antirootkit scan.

I see that you're not running any anti-virus software. Once finished with the preliminary removal instructions, do not uninstall whichever anti-virus that you choose to download.

This thread is for the use of mks130 only. Please don't post your own virus/spyware problems in this thread. Instead, open a new thread in our security and the web forum.
