Inactive Hijackthis log

I'm helping a friend with his Vista laptop. It seems to be infected with some malware. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bob, I will assist you but we do not 'screen' for malware with HijackThis.

If you would like us to check the system for malware, please follow the steps in the Preliminary Virus and Malware Removal thread HERE.

When you have finished, leave the logs for review in your next reply .
NOTE: Logs must be pasted in the replies. Attached logs will not be reviewed.

Please do not use any other cleaning programs or scans while I'm helping you, unless I direct you to. Do not use a Registry cleaner or make any changes in the Registry.

Please tell me what symptoms are being experienced- or more simply stated, why does your friend think he has malware..

I want to make this point clear: we are getting a lot of members posting here who are helping friends. However, some of these friends are getting impatient for results and then the 'helper' (like you) starts sending PMs or otherwise asking when they will be helped. Please understand that you have taken the responsibility for helping the friend- not me- so your patience is required while I am also helping others with their own machines.
