I attach HJT. log. Please check my log. HDD runs slow with spurious IE7 windows opening. This is my first attempt at attaching a log, so please, bear with me.

Thanks

Your system has several infections.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Regards Howard :)

HJT Log

AVG Antirookit scan found nothing.
Original problems; Spurious IE7 windows opening when using Mozilla Firefox, these appear to be adware for gambling and debt solution sites. Programs, including purchased Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 'freeze' mid task. email connection disabled. I downloaded and ran (trial) Trojan Hunter last night and scan detected 'Vundo.183' and a 'Trojan.Generic'. Computer ran well after their removal. I attach 3 x logs. Thanks Howard.View attachment 14707

Run HJT with no other programmes open. Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {2C58AADB-ED25-4266-859C-89E506FF45F8} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {78AA977E-39D7-421B-9879-3EA354B73FAA} - (no file)

O8 - Extra context menu item: StumbleUpon: &Blog This - res://StumbleUponIEBar.dll/blogimage

O15 - Trusted Zone: *.stumbleupon.com

O20 - Winlogon Notify: awttrsq - awttrsq.dll (file missing)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: pmnlj - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmnlj.dll (file missing)

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT and reboot your system. Other than the above, your HJT log is clean.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Thanks Howard, my computer is performing well after yesterdays scanning program. I've printed out the System Restore guide and will absorb it over breakfast. Your assistance in resolving my problem has been greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
